new year, new yarn, new stitch

Having bought some of this lovely acrylic yarn from Aldi yesterday, I couldn't resist diving into it at once. I haven't used a variegated yarn before, and I love how the colours change. I've been meaning to try corner to corner crochet for a while and it's very satisfying. Very easy, and works up quick - perfect for some slightly 'jaded' New Years Day sofa time.
Have also helped my 6 year old girl make some shoulder bags for cuddly toys - will post pictures tomorrow.

making things everyday

I love making things. All sorts of things, including but not limited to crochet, cakes, photographs, paintings, prints, 3d objects, bread, art and crafts. I don't always make enough time for making - I have kids (2), jobs (2), cooking, cleaning (not much admittedly) and a hobby of morris dancing. Plus all that time spent reading.....
So, I've decided to see if I can make something everyday in 2014. Something. Anything. A whole completed thing or a part of a bigger thing. Somedays it may just be a photo or dinner.
I've never had a blog before so it may take a while to find my voice, and find my way around, but here goes anyway...
